New contract offers more help for South East business

24 July 2009

The South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) Board this week approved Serco as its preferred bidder to deliver an enhanced ‘Business Link’ support service for three years from April 2010.

Business and stakeholder views strongly influenced design of the new contract and this week’s decision came after full competitive tendering and detailed evaluation of bids.

By setting the bar high, the new contract will deliver more support for South East businesses, for example:

  • More investment in frontline advice
  • A service that will reach more of the region’s businesses
  • More intensive 1-1 tailored support.

SEEDA funds and manages the Business Link service that delivers help, support and access to advice for all the region’s businesses.

SEEDA Chief Executive Pam Alexander said: “We are confident that the new service will provide consistent, high quality support to meet the needs of all businesses in the region.”
