SEEDA Consultation Papers Business Link Procurement and the Draft South East Business Support Strategy

3 October 2008

SEEDA invites partners and stakeholders to review and feedback on two key consultation papers:

1. The Business Link Procurement consultation document has been prepared in order to enable partners and stakeholders to inform the shape of the Business Link service from April 2010. SEEDA is seeking to procure the delivery of Business Link services in the South East from April 2010 via a formal European procurement process. In order to ensure that the delivery of Business Link services in the South East continues to meet the needs of its customers and deliver the South East’s economic development objectives (identified in the Regional Economic Strategy) SEEDA wishes to consult with regional partners and stakeholders, including businesses on key elements of delivery. The consultation paper will be supplemented with a series of sub-regional consultation events.

2. The draft South East Business Support Strategy is designed to take forward the commitment in the Regional Economic Strategy to implement an integrated approach to Business Support in the South East. The Strategy sets out the national and regional context and is designed to act as the overarching strategy for the implementation of Simplification of Business Support in the South East. It is designed to provide direction and common purpose for those who are involved in funding or delivering publicly funded business support leading to a more efficient and effective arrangements in the South East.

The consultation period for both documents will run for six weeks from 3rd October to 14th November 2008.
