The Government has announced that all Regional Development Agencies (RDAs), including SEEDA, will close by 31 March 2012.
Responsibility for economic development and regeneration in England is being passed onto successor bodies, including Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) and central Government departments
Our objective is to ensure a professional and cost effective closure by this date. We have pledged to work closely with our partners, contractors and stakeholders to ensure that the past and future economic benefits of key programmes and assets continue to deliver the greatest economic value for the South East and value for money for the taxpayer.

What we do: Helping Business: Sector consortia
Sector consortia are companies limited by guarantee run by a Chief Executive guided by a business-led Board. The main objectives of these companies are to:
- identify new market opportunities and to bring together coalitions of firms to take advantages of these opportunities, including those which occur overseas
- provide a focal point for assistance to companies in the sector
- provide networking opportunities
- provide strategic leadership.

- Aerospace and Defence - Farnborough Aerospace Consortium
- Marine - Marine South East
- Construction - South East Centre for the Built Environment
- Environmental Technologies - Envirobusiness South East
- Health Technologies - South East Health Technologies Alliance
- Digital Content - South East Media Network
- Security - Security Innovation & Technology Consortium.
