South East England Development Agency is Closing on March 31, 2012

The Government has announced that all Regional Development Agencies (RDAs), including SEEDA, will close by 31 March 2012.

Responsibility for economic development and regeneration in England is being passed onto successor bodies, including Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) and central Government departments

Our objective is to ensure a professional and cost effective closure by this date.  We have pledged to work closely with our partners, contractors and stakeholders to ensure that the past and future economic benefits of key programmes and assets continue to deliver the greatest economic value for the South East and value for money for the taxpayer.

Hythe Marine Park

hythe1

Hythe Marine Park is one of the Solent's newest and most unique Marine Business Parks. Occupied by a number of high profile marine businesses, the site, a former US Army base, was acquired by SEEDA and converted into a centre of marine clustering in 2008.  Further adaptations and improvements are taking place to ensure the site provides the maximum economic benefits for the area and the local marine sector. The site is one of the few remaining available waterside employment sites in the Solent area.

In October 2009 a superyacht refit hythe2and repair facility was opened at Hythe Marine Park. With its ship lift that can handle yachts of up to 70m (230ft) long, the Solent Refit facility can be hired by superyacht managers, captains, boatyards and superyacht traders and suppliers.

For more information, visit the Solent Refit website.
