Clothes Show Live 2004

SEEDA's 'Make Your Mark' standClothes Show Live 2004

Held at Birmingham's NEC, from 3-8 December, 2004.

SEEDA encouraged young people to make their mark, be enterprising and realise their potential at the world's largest public fashion and beauty event, the Clothes Show Live at Birmingham's NEC.

SEEDA's 'Make Your Mark' stand promoted enterprise and enterprising behaviour in the broadest sense, focusing on fashion as an example of an industry with a myriad of opportunities where young people can get involved.

Incorporated on the stand were a number of partners, Surrey Institute of Art & Design, Patent Office, GAP Activity Projects, Midlands Clothing Link, Portsmouth University, Winchester School of Art and SEEDA's network of Enterprise Gateways.

SEEDA and its partners attended the Clothes Show Live as part of the Enterprise Insight 'Make Your Mark' campaign – a major coalition whose aim is to inspire young people (14-25 year olds). It was founded by the four leading UK business organisations – (Confederation of British Industry (CBI), Federation of Small businesses, Institute of Directors (IOD) and Chamber of Commerce) working in partnership with key enterprise capacity building education organisations. The campaign is supported by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and is personally endorsed by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Gordon Brown.

In addition, celebrity Q&A sessions included guest appearances from Channel 4's Vernon Kay, June Sarpong and OK! TV's Jeff Brazier.
