Sustainable Developments

The objective is that by 2012 the South East will be one of the world's leading environmental economies, with businesses in the region having made significant reductions in water and energy consumption and waste production, relative to their output. There are three priorities supporting this:

  • Investment in the environment
  • Secure sustainable land management
  • Achieve sustainable management of waste, waste and energy to break the link between economic growth and environmental degradation
