Grant for Research & Development

Research Project

Planned feasibility study into the technological and commercial potential of turning highly innovative technology into a new scientific/technical knowledge product or process. This would involve critical analysis, trials and testing, data gathering and reports.

The grant rate is 60% and the level of support is £20,000 to £100,000

Following the formal acceptance of the offer, 20% of the grant (up to a maximum of £15,000) can be paid at the start of the project, ahead of any expenditure. Applicants are expected to submit quarterly claims for payment to the Monitoring Officer according to the conditions specified in the offer letter or at the very least submit a project progress report. Claims will be paid in instalments agreed by the applicant and project officer, taking into account the level of project costs that have been supported by Grant for Research and Development and the need to recover the up-front payment. We will retain 15% of the grant (except under exceptional circumstances) until the Project Officer confirms that the Project has been completed satisfactorily.
