Exceptional Development Project

Exceptional projects need to be more than just a larger development project and are likely to have a major effect on our quality of life and/or create significant benefits for society at large.

The development of a new technology, which is strategically important, providing a major technological advance which will result in sustainable major development for the UK.

The grant is ‘negotiable’ up to a 35% grant rate. The level of support is negotiable from £250,000 to £500,000. Project Officers will need to identify just how much is actually needed for the project to go ahead and grant will be negotiated accordingly. Applicants are expected to submit quarterly claims for payment to the Monitoring Officer according to the conditions specified in the offer letter or at the very least submit a project progress report.

• Grant award: 35% of eligible costs
• Maximum award: £500,000
• Maximum period: 6 to 36 months
