On planning aspects, SEEDA co-operates with planning authorities to define their economic goals for Local Development Frameworks (LDFs). It is important that SEEDA engages in this process, not least, to ensure the potential of strategic development sites. As a statutory consultee on planning applications, SEEDA is working closely with planning authorities and private sector developers, before application stage, to ensure that regional aspects are adopted to deliver high quality and best practice implementation across the South East. SEEDA's aim is to foster joined up thinking and actioning, to achieve better integrated developments including infrastructure, regeneration and business. In accordance with SEEDA's statutory consultee role the following criteria have been adopted and notified to Local Planning authorities in the South East - View Planning Application Criteria document (Microsoft Word document 49Kb). Additionally, SEEDA has produced a draft Advice Note to identify how the Agency will respond to regionally significant planning applications.
