As of the 1st October 2007, the Enterprise Gateways Network moved to begin operating under a new model, delivered through the regions Business Link Providers. The changes to the delivery model will make the Enterprise Gateway Network a more effective delivery mechanism for the future with a greater focus on individuals rather than businesses. Its services will support individuals to consider enterprise, addressing issues of confidence, communication and self-belief. Gateways have a critical role in encouraging a culture of entrepreneurship and economic activity within these communities and in closing the gap with mainstream business support provision.
A new Business Link interactive website is currently being developed for the Enterprise Gateway Service, including areas dedicated to each of the 10 new geographical zones within which Enterprise Gateways are now operating. These 10 new zones are:
Thames Gateway/North Kent Gateway Zone
East Kent Gateway Zone
South Kent Gateway Zone
Coastal East Sussex Gateway Zone
Coastal West Sussex and Gatwick Diamond Gateway Zone
Portsmouth and South East Hampshire Gateway Zone
Southampton, SW Hampshire & IoW Gateway Zone
North Hampshire and Surrey Gateway Zone
Berkshire Gateway Zone
Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire Gateway Zone
