South East plans to benefit from the London 2012 Games

On July 6 2005 London won the right to host the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in 2012. The Eton College Rowing Centre at Dorney Lake in the South East has been chosen to host the Rowing and Canoe/Kayak
(flatwater) competitions in 2012.

The benefits of the 2012 Games go beyond sport itself. There will be many construction contracts for the building industry and the South East is well placed to bid. Tourism can benefit hugely as people come to London and look to extend their stay.
