SEEDA ERDF Project

The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) has been established to reduce the gap between the levels of development of various regions and the extent to which the least-favoured regions and islands (including rural areas) are lagging behind. The ERDF contributes to the harmonious, balanced and sustainable development of economic activity, to a high degree of competitiveness, to high levels of employment and protection of the environment, and to equality between women and men.

SEEDA leads 30 partners from five countries – England, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany – in three ERDF supported projects to deliver integrated transport and economic policies and projects across North West Europe.

HSTintegration

HSTintegrationThe HSTintegration project focuses on strategic policy integration at regional, national and European level and on the implementation of best practice investment projects associated with the high speed rail network. With 18 partners - from England, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany - and a total project value of 29m Euros and an ERDF share of 14m EUR this is the largest INTERREG IIIB NWE project approved by the European Commission.

The project is a unique transnational partnership of five public authorities and five private sector port operators in Belgium, France and the UK. The partners are the Ports of Dover, Calais, Dunkerque, Boulogne-sur-Mer and Zeebrugge, the three regional authorities of Kent, Nord Pas de Calais and West Flanders, and Dover District Council. The project value is just under 1m EUR with 50% requested as ERDF match funding from the Interreg IIIB programme.
